Viribus is a group of Therapists and Peer Support Specialists that are Veterans and/or former First Responders. We believe in transparency and honesty. We have experienced our own difficulties and challenges in life after our service in the Military and/or First Responder careers. Nobody wakes up one morning and decides to be angry, withdrawn, bitter, frustrated, and emotionally numb. It just happens. We are not weak, defective, useless, worthless, or less than. We are loving individuals that are just hurting inside. We want what everyone else wants....to have peace and happiness in life.
We use an eclectic approach to therapy; including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement, Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Just as each one of us are unique with our own individualistic personalities, We too believe therapy should be tailored to the individual. There is no one model that fits everyone.
We have been there. All of our Therapists and Peer Support Specialists have served either in the Military or as a First Responder. Many of us have undergone our own psychotherapy. This journey has led us to dedicating our life to helping others experiencing similar difficulties. We don't have all of the answers, but we do know the way out.
