My approach to working with you in therapy would encompass all registers of your experience, including non-verbal communication, the body, and the mind. In my way of working, developing an understanding of where and how feelings are actually felt is as important as understanding cognitive distortions and negative thought patterns. I listen to every which way you communicate. Psychotherapy can be used in myriad ways, short or long-term. Often when distressing symptoms have abated, psychotherapy shifts to become something more deeply self-reflective and meaningful.
My practice is about helping you recognize your own self-agency and authenticity and ultimately to help you make meaning out of your experiences. I practice psychodynamic, psychoanalytic and trauma-informed psychotherapy to treat a wide-range of complex patterns from anxiety, trauma, grief and loss to addiction and PTSD.
I work with cisgender heterosexuals in my practice, and I am also an LGBTQ+ affirmative clinician and clinically trained on issues uniquely impacting these communities. I am a professor at Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I teach clinical practice to nascent psychotherapists. I have also completed a 2-year program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

"
I approach treatment from a feminist lens, meaning that there are grand unconscious and harmful narratives in our culture that we do not realize we are participating or perpetuating. I also use Jungian depth psychology, psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theories with a person-centered treatment approach.
