Many of my clients express a deep longing to be known, but a simultaneous fear of being seen for who they are. Maybe you wonder how you got here: monitoring every bite of food that goes into your mouth or constantly checking your body in the mirror. You may have a lot of external markers of success and most people would have no idea how lonely and overwhelmed you feel inside and how hard it feels to get through the day. Making peace with yourself and your body is a radical act in the context of a culture obsessed with weight, body size and dieting. I help people come home to themselves.
I work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) and body liberation framework, meaning that I believe all bodies are deeply worthy of compassionate and skilled care. I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapies, including DBT, ACT, CBT, and ERP and have experience working at in-patient, PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care.
With your permission, I will engage as a collaborator in helping you build a meaningful life and come home to your body. I believe humans are capable of great change with the right tools and support. Engaging in the hard work of self-discovery and behavior modification involves tremendous courage and I am passionate about allying with you in this process.
