I will assist you in developing healthy coping skills and support you in moving away from less effective, short-term coping strategies. We will use your strengths to empower you to live in a way that is consistent with your values.

With couples, I focus on problematic patterns of interaction that are used to deal with natural differences, underlying sensitivities, and life stressors. We can break the cycle of those patterns by increasing awareness and acceptance of each partner. Increased empathy promotes natural behavior change which in turn leads to greater relationship satisfaction.

An essential element of successful treatment is the development of a strong alliance between therapist and client. I work hard to understand your thoughts and feelings without judging your experience. My genuine, humorous and warm style allows us to fully partner in progressing toward your goals.
