There comes a time when we need some support from a professional to cope with many of life’s challenges. It takes strength and courage to ask for help. Just by being here, you are already starting your path toward recovery. I’m a licensed Psychologist in the greater Charlotte area, and I have over 10 years of therapy experience. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I am trained as a generalist in clinical psychology and I have treated individuals with a broad spectrum of mental health issues. My specialty areas are trauma, low self-worth, anxiety, depression, binge eating disorder, and body image issues.
My clinical framework is derived mostly from cognitive behavioral and compassion focused therapy approaches. Throughout my clinical work, I have learned that the most powerful agent of change is learning to treat ourselves with compassion. Rather than judging and blaming ourselves for our perceived mistakes or failures, showing ourselves kindness is healing.
I welcome and affirm clients from diverse identities including sexuality or gender diversities, racial/ethnic identities, and spirituality/religion. To schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation visit my website at www.amarepsychology.com and click the Schedule Now button to instantly request an appointment.
