My practice specializes in helping children, adolescents, adults, couples and the family system collectively to work through and move forward past one's anxiety, depression, adjustment issues from separation/divorce or grief, social skill challenges, past trauma, addictions, obsessive compulsive issues, disruptive behaviors and attention issues.
Currently, we are beginning groups for social issues, anxiety, trauma, parenting support and academic success.
We do observations in the class setting and make recommendations to your child's teacher, to you or your school system. Making recommendations to connect all systems for your child's highest level of success.
Aside from my private practice, I have been an Adjunct Professor at several Universities. I received my PhD from The Catholic University of America (CUA) and successfully defended my dissertation "Exploring Factors of Depressive Symptoms in Young Adults from Divorced Families". Girls Self-Esteem and Social Skills (Ages 10-13)
Preadolescence can be a time of great stress and change for girls. This group will focus on processing preteen girl dynamics, handling academic demands, and balancing school and social pressures. The other girls in this group are successful academically but may have difficulty managing associated anxiety. The goal is to foster, engage in, and sustain positive social relationships, and to endure and recover from stressors and anxiety.
