I utilize a warm, motivating, and non-judgmental approach along with practical tools to aid the counseling process. My therapeutic lens is informed by over twenty years of meditation and yoga practice. I work holistically. I combine talk-based therapies (CBT, Psychodynamic, etc.) with body-based mindfulness. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). I work with people navigating trauma and I'm interested in exploring the stories that the body wants to tell. Ultimately, my aim is to increase self-awareness and emotional resilience to foster greater self-acceptance and to develop more satisfying relationships.
I'm committed to working towards racial and social justice in the “therapy room” and in the community. In 2008, I co-founded Urban Roots, a youth development farming organization in East Austin. I have honed my therapy skills at Austin State Hospital, the UT Counseling and Mental Health Center, Capital Area Counseling, and Seton Behavioral Health.
