After completing my Bachelor's of Psychology at the University if Monterrey, Mexico, I began specialized training at the Child Analytic Study Program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where I also completed a Master's in Education and Psychology. I moved to Houston and while raising my four children I founded Mexican Women's Initiative, a non-profit organization focusing on organizing Latin women to provide services for the Latin community. I then joined two other Latin psychotherapists to create the "Centro para el Desarrollo para la Mujer", an educational forum for Latin women.
In 2012 I completed the 2 year Fellowship Psychotherapy Training Program at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston, TX. I have been in private practice for more than 10 years, I have a monthly column in a leading Latin journal, and serve as a consultant and frequent guest on Spanish TV and radio shows.
I serve on the Board of the Houston Group Psychotherapy Association and as President of the Alumni Group of the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies. My practice focuses on individual, family and marital therapy. I am fluent and practice in both English and Spanish and have helped many Hispanics transition to life in the United States.
