First responders: your jobs are so high-pressure that most people can’t imagine what you see and do in a day. The shifts are long & hard, your sleep is out of whack, and your spouse complains that you’re more distant and moody all the time. You haven’t felt like yourself in a while, and “sucking it up” is sucking the life out of you. You miss that easygoing person you used to be...and you want to feel in control of your life again.

Therapists: you’re burning out. You sit with clients all day and then you go home and you’re everyone’s shoulder to cry on all night. You’re a natural empathizer and your sensitivity is your strength...but it’s hard to turn it off when you need to recharge. Work follows you home and you’re feeling particularly triggered by clients lately.
