We are not really taught what it takes to be in a healthy relationship. Honestly, most of us are winging it based the function or dysfunction that we saw from our parents without even realizing that is what we are doing. While most of us are doing our best in our relationships, without intentions or tools we can create habits and behaviors that end up causing disconnect and dissatisfaction with our partners. What if you could learn new tools to be able to feel connected? What if working through conflict didn't have to be a traumatic experience every time it came up?
This is where couples therapy comes in. In traditional couples therapy, we will take 60-minute sessions and dive deep into what isn't working and build your relationship back up to something that helps you feel more connected and satisfied. Couples intensives are designed to spend a weekend looking at the root of the issue and loading you with tools.
There is nothing to be ashamed of to reach out and get the tools you need. When you start anything new, you usually get training in how to be the best at what you are doing. While might not get training at the beginning of relationships, it isn't too late. Reach out to schedule weekly therapy or request a consultation for a weekend intensive!
