I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and actively work each day to be a better ally to the BIPOC community. I am a passionate advocate for equality and justice. I am interested in working with those who have been or are struggling with substance use, domestic violence, trauma, and anxiety. I am also particularly interested in working with those who want to address LGBTQ+ and women’s issues.
I try to focus on finding things in each person that will motivate them and remind them of their strengths while working through the hard times. A strong therapeutic relationship is important, but recognizing your agency and assets will allow you to thrive outside of our sessions. Leaving room for lightness and humor is something else that’s important.
I believe in meeting others where they are, providing an empathetic and safe environment to express oneself, and focusing on solutions to help others live the life they want to live. I keep an open mind and am nonjudgemental. Reaching out for help in this area can be scary, but I hope to make the process seamless and encourage you to continue to be brave!
