Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I had a 25 year career as a creative professional. As such, I can relate to the personal values and passion that lead someone to pursue a creative occupation that is intertwined with individual identity. With that, comes the challenges of living outside of dominant culture without a roadmap forward and the instability that can occur with freelance/consultative work. Creative expression undergoes cycles of ebb and flow. However, prolonged periods of feeling creatively stranded or stifled may be a sign that the psyche is asking for help.
Therapy can be a creative process that embraces the journey of discovery and reframes feelings of failure as opportunities to learn and grow. Together we will explore your most difficult feelings, heal childhood wounds, relieve depression and anxiety, improve communication, increase self-esteem, and develop more satisfying relationships.
