Kristie is passionate about educating the patient regarding their mental health conditions, medications, and lifestyle treatments to improve mental health. An initial assessment to determine if you and I have common treatment goals, takes about an hour. Once care is established, following appointments are generally 30 minutes. I respect your privacy, individuality, and preferences. As with any health care, mental health care decisions should involve you, with your active participation.
If you have had intolerable side effects (or ineffective) to two or more psychiatric medications, DNA testing may be beneficial for you. This simple cheek swab, which can be done from home, can determine how you metabolize medications. The results along with other clinical information can help guide treatment decisions. Often covered by insurance.
