When grief hasn't been fully addressed, it can look like depression, anxiety, isolation, addictive behaviors to escape the pain, workaholism, relationships that are fragile, a lack of motivation, or feeling overwhelming resentment and bitterness. And grief can occur after a variety of losses that many people don't realize: divorce, moving, graduation, empty nest, retirement, an impactful change in financial position or physical abilities, a pandemic. I recently lost my father (Dec 2023) after losing my mother in 2010. Because of the Grief Recovery Method (GRM), I knew how to process things from my childhood that we couldn't talk about, or it would be hurtful for me to ask him to acknowledge. 8-Week GRM group meeting on Monday evenings in Moraga, CA. (not drop-in) We will learn the myths about grief that have been undermining our ability to recover from loss. Then we'll look at our own history of loss, find one loss to work more in-depth on, and learn how to get complete with the unresolved issues surrounding that loss.
