Traumatic experiences can overwhelm our nervous system and our natural ability to cope with and process events. This can leave us struggling with a number of symptoms such as feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, irritable, numb, easily startled, and distrustful of others and the world around us. Re-establishing a sense of safety is an important first step in working through these experiences. I believe we all have the ability to heal ourselves.
