I provide adults with support to make sense of their experiences through counselling therapy. I have 24+ years of experience working in the field of mental health. I began my training as a research psychologist focused on supporting the well-being of children and youth living in challenging contexts internationally. This work gave me strong insights into the importance of relationships and context for our own well-being; the impact of marginalization and oppression on how people are able to manage their own well-being; and the importance of understanding people as they live within their own culture and across diverse cultures.
I provide counselling for various issues, including mood disorders and trauma. I use predominantly narrative therapy and emotion-focused therapy, together with mindfulness, to support clients become aware of how they see the world and make sense of their place in it. Clients and I then work together to re-author or re-frame how they make sense of the world.
Working in partnership, clients and I use sessions to explore challenges, develop a richer sense of self, and identify opportunities for healing and growth. Collectively this work supports greater client well-being. I offer predominantly video appointments but can arrange in-person sessions if these are preferred. Contact me to arrange a free meet and greet.
