Have you been thinking about starting therapy but feel overwhelmed by the intense vulnerability required to open up to a stranger? Sharing your thoughts, feelings, fears, and worries to someone new can be so challenging. Animals have a beautiful, nonjudgemental healing presence that can be reassuring and helpful as you venture into a new environment. Horses are incredibly attuned to nonverbal communication and make the most wonderful therapeutic companions. If you are someone that processes through pictures, art or movement and not words, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy may be the perfect fit for you.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy can involve activities like walking alongside a horse, watching them graze and play from afar and touching/ grooming horses to build trust and bond. You do not need to have any prior experiences with horses in order to benefit from therapy, making it the perfect option for animal lovers!
If you are hesitant to get started, I can offer an introductory video session where you can meet me and some of the horses to see if this may be a good fit for you.
