I am a licensed clinical counsellor and contemplative psychotherapist who has worked in the field of mental health and wellness for nearly 15 years. I work with individuals in a variety of capacities, helping them through concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma (both acute and complex), OCD, addiction and self-esteem. I have an MA in Counselling Psychology and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies. I use an integrative, systemic approach that includes psychodynamic (Internal Family Systems), somatic, cognitive-behavioral, narrative and mindfulness based models.
In addition, I am a trauma informed yoga therapist and have over 20 years of scholarship and training in Yogic psychotherapy and Buddhist psychology. I draw on these complimentary backgrounds to inform my work and holistic approach to emotional and psychological health.
My primary objective is to help clients gain insight into their inner lives and to help them initiate their own meaningful change process, discovering and cultivating deeper joy and ease within themselves. My role as a counsellor is to nourish and support that personal, creative process and to add professional expertise when needed.
