One of the consequences of stress is re-experiencing it in the mind and body, leaving us depleted and disconnected from life. Intense reactions can be confusing and distressing. Making sense of our experiences, putting them in perspective, and changing unhelpful ways of thinking, behaving, and coping increases our resilience. I welcome individuals from all walks of life and have a particular interest in survivors of sexual violence and exploitation; first responders, frontline workers, military, veterans and their families; survivors of adverse childhood experiences; workplace stress and life transitions; and older adults.
I have substantial experience treating complex trauma. I am very caring and foster a sense of safety and connection with my clients. My approach is tailored to each client’s specific needs. Above all, I want my clients to feel heard and understood. With your trust, I will support you to gain insight, make changes, and find meaning in your experiences.
I believe that we do not need to have travelled the same path in order to walk together. I have experience counselling individuals from diverse cultures, races, genders, faiths, and sexual orientations. While recognizing our differences, I bring knowledge and experience from the field to the healing journey, and work to see the world as you see it.
