The clients that I connect with are often sensitive and reflective. They may feel somehow different or misunderstood. I work well with teenagers and young adults; queer clients of all ages; people navigating ADHD; folks who have been confined to institutions; and "over-thinkers" who are interested in becoming more connected with themselves, their bodies, and the world around them. My background in critical mental health research grounds my practice in compassion, justice, and freedom.
My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic, somatic, parts work, and emotion-focused principles and techniques. I believe that healing happens when we bring unconscious patterns to awareness, explore our embodied experience, integrate the many parts of ourselves, and become familiar with our emotions in the various shapes that they take.
Therapy is a relationship, and finding a good fit is important. If you think that we might work well together, feel free to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so that we can get acquainted and imagine what therapy might look like for you.
