Over half of my work is with couples. Through training and supervision in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), I can see and hear needs and feelings long hidden for fear of being hurt again. I empathize and acknowledge real wrongs and real emotional damage to trust and respect. I hear both sides. I also offer hope. I can see when marital conflict itself offers evidence that partners still desire and need each other. I know how difficult a process forgiveness and then trust building really are. Slowly, when even one is ready to love again, I equip both to express their hearts with a gentle strength, and to hear with compassion.
In addition to marital and premarital counseling, I see individual men, women, and families on anger, estrangement, anxiety, depression, ADHD, pornography, sexual addictions, and workplace relational struggles. I offer men's anger management groups. My counseling theory combines a family systems view with an emotion focused therapy approach.
My wife, Margaret Killeen, LPC, and I co-lead Killeen Counseling & Associates, started in 2010. We have joined with our team of therapists in seeking advanced training Emotion Focused Therapy, allowing us to collaborate in caring for and restoring the bonds of love within families.

Groups
Anger Healing Group
For men wanting healthier choices in responding to their anger, and a clear understanding of how to change. Confidentiality is part of a group covenant. Groups are comprised of up to seven men, each responsible for assignments designed to prepare them for group discussions. Reading includes a Christian perspective on anger, it's value and the choices - good and bad in response to it, including forgiveness. Groups are twenty-four weeks in length offering an understanding of the causes of anger, the emotions accompanying it, as well as skills in expressing needs, exercising self-control and gentle assertiveness.
