I enjoy working with children and their families. I believe that children that experience poor impulse control and inattention (ADHD), anxiety, depression, grief and trauma do not necessarily have the skills to express their feelings in ways that adults can relate and therefore are sometimes misunderstood. I work with these children and their families to best identify ways to communicate those feelings in a safe, healthy environment through the use of play therapy and expressive therapies.
Play therapy is a form of counseling using play-based models and techniques to better communicate with and help clients, especially children, achieve optimal mental health.
I am a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) that is passionate about working with children that others have identified as "challenging" and/or "impossible".
