My sense of humor is big part part of my counseling style. I take my work with clients seriously, but there are times when therapy needs to include some humor. In addition to counseling, I also provide life coaching for clients who want to make changes but aren't sure where to start. I work particularly well with clients who are nervous or skeptical about the idea of counseling. I realize that therapy can be a significant expense, so I run my practice as efficiently as possible. All scheduling, forms, notes, and billing are online, so we can make the best use of our time together.

I generally see clients for an average of 5-10 sessions, and I specialize in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Most of my clients are teenage boys and adult men, although I occasionally work with couples (particularly when the husband/boyfriend would prefer a male therapist). My style seems to work best with guys.

Before I started counseling, I worked as a TV news reporter, an online media executive, and an adjunct professor at the College of Charleston. This diverse experience in journalism, business, and education has given me valuable skills that I use today in my counseling practice.
