Emotions can really suck and as we age we grow to have difficulty expressing and feeling them. An "affect phobia." In other words, we develop difficulty interacting, expressing, and feeling our emotions. This presents in a number of different methods; laughing when uncomfortable, lack of eye contact, verbal outbursts, restlessness, and many other ways. I help patients recognize the means used to relate to themselves and others to experience feelings and resolve unconscious conflicts. The goal being an elimination of depression, anxiety, and trauma responses in the shortest time possible.

To meet this end, I utilize an integrated approach. Together, we will examine how you've learned to tolerate mixed feelings and anxiety and how this presents in session as well as your life. I try to be very open about my observations so that we may discuss your experience and its relation to others (or myself) in real time.
