DBT, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, is an evidence-based cognitive-behavioral treatment that teaches skills to reduce emotional suffering and improve relationships we have with ourselves and others. Couples Skill Building Group in Grand Rapids, MI
Who: All Couples / Dyads / Partners (Open to LGBTQ+ folx) . Couples will have the opportunity to enhance their relationship through an 8-week, skill-building group using Gottman-based, Existential, and Solution-Focused methods. Throughout the 8-weeks, couples will learn and be able to practice skills based on the Stress Response Cycle, Coping skills and Co-Regulation, Gottman Communication Methods, Emotional Intelligence, Assumption Checking, and Meeting Bids for Connection. This skills group is not a replacement for individual or couple’s counseling but is to help couples navigate better ways to respond to one another.

Trauma-Informed Yoga (TIY)
Ideal for clients and their loved ones to engage in mindfulness practices. TIY helps people integrate sensations that can come to the surface from talk therapy. TIY can help build confidence to maintain personal wellness routines outside of therapy sessions. Trauma can have a lasting impact on both our physical and mental well-being. Sometimes traumatic experiences make our body disconnect from our mind and as a result, we feel detached from our own physical sensations and emotions.
