I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Counseling Supervisor, with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy. I believe in the power of hope. I have been seeing clients for over 8 years in many different situations. I have a person centered and systemic approach, meaning that every part of a person's system from family to job, school, community, is an important part of understanding underlying issues and concerns. When we understand how we came to feel or think about things, we can work to adapt thoughts feelings and thoughts in ways that serve us more productively.
I believe people have the power to move themselves forward. Sometimes we just need to see a reflection of ourselves to know how to take those first steps. Communication, understanding, and empathy are keys to healthy relationships of all varieties and in all areas. I am a Sex-Positive therapist; there is no room for shame in the counseling room!
