It's essential in our work together that you feel understood, cared for, and accepted as you are. I view our therapeutic relationship as a kind of model and base for you to practice being yourself authentically, wholly, and unashamedly. Our sessions will be a space where you can try on different ways of being. I will listen to you deeply with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment. I see you as the expert of your own experience and will help you grow your sense of self, and help you find strength and stability in your life. My hope is that you'll be better able to advocate for your needs and wants with others.
I have experience working with children and have found it greatly informs my work with teens and adults. I often find when one reflects on and explores their earliest memories they find ways to better understand how they have navigated situations historically. It can also help illuminate what continues to serve one in the present and what can shift.
The world is full of complexity and struggles. It can be helpful to have a designated space to focus on yourself - practice being more expansive, introspective, and build self-compassion. Therapy allows time to investigate who you are with containment and grounding. Please, email or call me for a free 20-minute consultation and we'll see if we're a good fit!
