Successful therapy begins with a positive relationship with a trusted therapist. Building trust between client and therapist is an integral foundation for any positive change to occur. My utilization of insight oriented therapy is set against a backdrop of Mindfullness work and an understanding of the client's family history. My goal as a therapist is to untangle the narratives that my clients have created for their lives that have inhibited their ability to have healthy relationships, both with themselves and with others.
Maximizing a client's self awareness to help change the ways in which they relate to the world can yield a sense of empowerment. I seek to provide a caring, compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic environment which can serve as fertile ground for these changes to occur.
I use this approach in my work with Adolescents (12-18), Adults (18+), Couples & Families. I have worked extensively with issues including, but not limited to, Depressive & Anxiety Disorders; Attachment; Adolescent adjustment issues; Relationship Counseling; Grief & Loss; College Readiness; Sexuality & alternative lifestyles.
