I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in both Alaska and Oregon. I have a MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University in 2007, and have worked in the mental health field for nearly 20 years. I use a trauma informed framework and believe in the intrinsic ability for each individual to heal, find their own path and create a life of meaning. It is possible to go from merely just surviving and coping, to thriving. Generational healing, changing patterns and post traumatic growth is absolutely attainable.
My therapeutic approach is strength based, person-centered and use EMDR and CBT. I have additional training and use other modalities such as expressive arts, DBT, polyvagal, parts work and incorporate those as needed. This is your journey and believe that therapy is a process of collaboration as well as a necessity for you to feel safe, heard and accepted.
I have worked in a variety of settings such as community mental health, residential treatment, university setting, as well as in an integrated primary care clinic, and incorporate each of these experiences into my work. I know that stress and challenges impact each of us at times, and therapy can benefit personal growth and transformation for everyone.
