The concept of "self-improvement" can be empowering, but also intimidating. In a problem-saturated world, it can be easy to define ourselves as our problems, instead of looking at them as operating forces that can then be explored.
I advocate for the cathartic power of storytelling, and of hearing our stories told back to us. I am interested in how we come to think how we think/act how we act, and in what our preferred ways of being and relating might be. I believe in the impact of questions and the ways they can change a life. I seek to expose truths, rather than evaluate clients.
My therapeutic approach is premised on curiosity and collaboration, and my personal style is actively engaged: authentic, respectful but not formal, and including healing humor when appropriate. I have a particular focus on relational issues, grief, and residual trauma.
