Run & Jump Counseling is a psychology practice that specializes in therapy services for middle and high school age children and their families. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I've worked with hundreds of middle school and high school students with a wide variety of concerns. I believe that a good therapeutic relationship provides the building blocks for change and the basis from which to use a number of therapeutic techniques to help your child. I provide both individual and family therapy, as well as after school, evening and some weekend appointments.
When it comes to therapy, teens and pre-teens are often thought of as either children or mini-adults. However, this age group has their own set of needs. Having a therapist who specializes in specific concerns related to middle and high school students can make a difference in treatment.
Attending therapy is often a choice made by a parent or guardian; for a middle or high school student, the idea of sitting down with an adult, with the expectation of talking about problems can be overwhelming. My goal is always first to provide a comfortable setting and positive relationship.
