Therapy with me offers a reflective space that invites you to explore and get to know aspects of yourself that are hard to reach when alone. Within an empathic and interactive psychotherapy relationship, we explore internal and external spheres of experience including feelings, thoughts, actions, and inactions. This process paves the road for a more meaningful life and greater self-understanding, which helps one break out of harmful patterns. Along the way, we also identify and utilize coping skills that will help you to reduce depression, anxiety and other troubling symptoms.
I have specialized training in complex trauma, PTSD, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as modalities geared towards children and their families. I also offer psychoanalysis to those interested in a deep self-examination. This requires meeting more frequently to facilitate the safety and continuity needed to intensely explore one's inner world.
In addition to my private practice, I am a clinical supervisor to post-doctoral fellows at Mt Sinai-St. Luke's and a faculty member of the William Alanson White Postdoctoral Fellowship. Prior to my career as a psychologist, I was a high school teacher and middle school dean of students.
