Currently, I'm only accepting male clients who have been sexually abused and/or assaulted. I work with men of all ages, including older men who have never talked about being sexually abused. While there are many female therapists who work well with male sexual abuse survivors, I believe being a straight male therapist with a wife and family helps. I also specialize in helping adult men with depression, anxiety, and other histories of trauma, such as physical and emotional abuse. I am certified in Interactional Guided Imagery, a trained EMDR therapist, facilitated over 100 psychodramas, and am effective and successful in my work.
I find my clients are able to relate easily to me and I am quickly able to begin the helping process. So much of what helps is in the therapy relationship and once established there are many opportunities for growth and healing. My special knowledge in the science of how trauma impacts memory is also very helpful. I do not accept any Pennsylvania Blue Cross
I'm on the faculty of the Chicago Center for Family Health and I was nominated for a teaching award by my graduate social work students at the University of Chicago School of Social Work. I've been married 40 years and played team sports through my first year in college. I currently live in Philadelphia, Pa and offer sessions via Zoom.

Many of us, even those in the healing arts, are confused about the profound way trauma impacts memory. Using Dr. Ford's accusations of sexual assault as a starting point, this workshop will provide an overview of the research and a model for determining the authenticity of trauma memories. Key concepts such as central and peripheral details, implicit/explicit memory, state and context dependent memory will be discussed. Ample time will be allowed for questions and discussion. Format will be power-point presentation with video-vignettes, live demonsration and group participation.
