Hi there, I’m Nydia! I focus on working with adult women struggling with anxiety and relationship distress. I use a compassionate approach providing a safe space where clients can experience the healing powers of grace, empathy, and validation. I believe all behavior makes sense in the larger context of emotions and attachment needs. My approach uses a combination of Emotionally Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory to understand the unmet needs our emotions try to communicate, identify relational patterns we get stuck in, and then use this information to empower clients to find new ways to get previously unmet need satisfied.
My communication style is one of compassion, understanding, validation, empathy and grace. My hope is for all clients to feel heard, deeply understood, and accepted by me in session, and to allow that feeling of acceptance to transform the way they see themselves and interact with others.
I transitioned to becoming a therapist after a 20 year career in business. I longed for a greater sense of purpose and felt a calling to this field. This life transition has been incredibly challenging and rewarding. I couldn’t have done it on my own, and likewise, I want to be here for you so you don’t have to go through your struggles alone.
