There are a range of reasons why intimacy might feel out of reach or we feel disconnected from ourselves (or our partner.) Perhaps it’s all of the “stuff” you were taught about who you “should” be as a sexual being, or what intimacy is supposed to look like in a relationship. Maybe it’s because unrealistic body standards have invited themselves into the bedroom and are getting in the way of feeling present and pleasure. Or perhaps you and your partner have been at odds with your differing levels of sexual desire and needs, and are feeling defeated in finding a system that “works" for both of you.
I have a passion for supporting individuals and couples in uncovering these various blocks, understanding them from a contextual lens, and navigating them in a way that makes sense for you. Other topics explored include: conflict/communication, sexual dysfunction disorders, sexual trauma, infidelity/trust repair, attachment, and ethical nonmonagamy.
I am an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, and additionally certified in Perinatal Mental Health. My approach to therapy is curious, direct yet understanding, relational, and I tend to laugh a lot with my clients as we bring humor into sessions. I fully believe we all have access towards building (or reclaiming) an improved relationship with intimacy.
