I like to think of the journey to healing as a path back to one’s self. It’s incredibly easy to lose bits and pieces of ourselves when trying to recalibrate after traumatic experiences or just trying to function every day waking up to the current state of the world. Perhaps you’ve pushed your needs aside in this process, or just haven’t had the time or understanding of what those needs are. In therapy I offer a safe space to slow down and assist you in identifying your needs and learning how to tend to yourself. Common therapeutic goals can include trauma and emotional processing, confidence building, communication and self-care.
I work from client-centered orientation. With deep listening, I follow your lead and build off of the strengths and skills you already posses. I utilize a blend of both Eastern and Western modalities. This includes Mindfulness approaches, DBT, relational therapy, EFT, and basic principles of CBT and Somatic Therapy.
As a proud Kānaka Maoli (native Hawaiian) woman on her own path of unpacking intergenerational trauma, I have a calling (but am not limited to) work with fellow native and indigenous folk. I'm working to decolonizing my therapeutic space. Aloha 'Āina, along with fight for collective liberation are core values that inform my therapeutic work.
