When we suffer from feelings related to grief or loss, from unsatisfying relationships in the past or present, or from wishing to have more joy in our lives--therapy can be a powerful step toward healing and relief. Having a safe place and a compassionate person with whom to share our grief, our critical or frightening thoughts, and our longings can help enormously. I work in a relational, supportive, and collaborative way to help people move from anxiety, trauma, depression and problems with relationships to a place of increased trust, safety, and satisfaction.
Therapy is a way to deepen understanding and self-acceptance. I help people explore the feelings and patterns in their past and present experience, the images and metaphors that arise in waking or sleeping using a variety of methods acquired from years training in psychodynamic, humanistic, existential theories, relational gestalt, and buddhist psychology.
My practice serves adults who want to feel greater energy and joy for living, want to improve their relationships, and want help dealing with/exploring difficult feelings. I have extensive knowledge and experience dealing with life challenges such as relationships/communication, parenting, grief and loss, life transitions, somatic complaints, and trauma.
