I think much of therapy involves coming to know that you are safe in the presence of another person - safe enough to feel, “not know”, and share parts of yourself that you might fear, judge, or hate. Perhaps you are struggling with a sense that something is missing in your life. You may be healing from a traumatic experience, or from impossible childhood situations. Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety or boredom, or feel “stuck” in your creative practice. Perhaps you are longing for a deeper connection within your relationships. Whatever you are facing, you are here because some part of you is brave enough to hope for relief.
I offer depth-oriented treatment for individuals and couples struggling with relationship problems and challenges with mood and self-esteem. I specialize in working with people struggling to find and make their creative work.
My hope is that through our work together, you experience greater contact with yourself and reach a fuller understanding of who you are and what you long to make. My orientation is rooted in contemporary psychoanalysis and informed by queer perspectives and zen traditions. I often draw from music and poetry in my thinking. My style is warm.
