Welcome! I'm sure a little bit about me would be helpful. Foremost, I embrace a dialectical worldview in my practice. This means that I willingly acknowledge that multiple truths can exist at the same time. I have witnessed this stance give clients permission to explore their own experiences at a greater depth, and release feelings of shame and guilt. With years of experience working for an antiviolence organization, those that have survived trauma are resilient and strong. I believe in the ability for those seeking therapy to find own truths with some assistance from me as the clinical guide.
I am comfortable treating those that are healing from trauma and those that may have caused it. I have an extensive professional history in the field of intimate partner violence. I use Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT) throughout treatment due to its main assumption that people are doing the best they can at any given time.
