I deeply respect and value the courage that it takes for an individual to seek therapy. It is an incredible gift to oneself. Echoing the words of Erich Fromm, I wholeheartedly believe that “whether we or not we are aware of it, there is nothing of which we are more ashamed than of not being ourselves, and there is nothing that gives us greater pride and happiness than to think, to feel and say what is ours”. While fostering a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and authenticity, I seek to emphasize each individual's unique strengths and skills as we sort out the emotional distress together.
Utilizing a trauma-informed, attachment based approach, I specialize in working with clients struggling with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, adjustment/life transitions, grief/loss, self-esteem issues, and relationship difficulties. I have a particular interest in working with clients facing addiction-related struggles.
In therapy, it is my hope that each client will not only discover more effective ways of coping with life's difficulties, but will develop a stronger sense of compassion and connectedness in relationship with oneself. Therapy should ultimately instill in you a sense of confidence, knowing you can better manage life beyond our work together.
