Therapy in its simplest definition is connection. Disconnection can be created through attachment wounds and interpersonal trauma. Connection to self can be created through the therapeutic relationship and experiencing someone who listens intently, without judgment, offering a reflection of your unexpressed wants and needs. Connection to friends, family, or partners can be experienced as you individually begin to heal your past and present. I enjoy working with adolescents, teenagers, and adults who are experiencing disconnection at school, work, and/or home.
My goal as a counselor is to leave you with more tools in your backpack than Dora the Explorer as you journey toward the goals you have set. I utilize some CBT, Gestalt Therapy, MI, and EMDR along with other creative strategies to help improve symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Dissociation, and past or present hurtful relationships.
If you feel disconnected or confused about your current journey or your present feels clouded by your past, therapy may be a great place to start.
