I believe that personal growth through counseling is possible when a collaborative trusting relationship is developed between a counselor and client. My role is not to give you all the answers, but to help you find your own answers and learn to make decisions that are healthy and align with your values and goals. As every person is different I feel it is important to develop a plan of action that is tailored to you and your lifestyle. I do try to incorporate physical and spiritual health along with mental health to ensure growth is lasting and comprehensive.
I most often work with adolescents, those in the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with substance use concerns, and those with a history of trauma or family dysfunction. I take time each year to get further education in the areas I focus on so that I am able to offer a dynamic ever growing approach to those I work with.
I am an openly non-binary, queer therapist which allows me to offer a different level of insight for clients and family members seeking counseling relating to LGBTQ+ concerns. I am fortunate that there is a lake and a trail near my office and am more than happy to spend session time outdoors with those that are interested in doing so.
