A therapist is one who listens, who "gets you!" Having experienced the pain cycle of love vs chaos in narcissistic-codependent relationships, I know the trauma of divorce, single-parenting hardships, poverty, starting over. I know the shame and pain of emotional abuse and alienation by a religious agency, having worked/lived on "both sides of ministry". I have discovered the power in inviting someone to walk alongside; learning to be transparent can be hard. I am here for you, to listen, no judgments, with openness to your need.
As a Certified EMDR Therapist I view health and emotional issues through the lens of trauma, with the filter of our family system. Trauma can be a one-time or multi event(s) caused by upbringing, psychological, emotional, physical or religious abuse, often by the people we trust the most. I offer a safe space of acceptance and kind confrontation.
As your therapist, I will be present at your point of need. Maybe it is anxiety, trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, narcissism, codependency, aging, shame, powerlessness, emotionally unavailable or toxic parents (-ing), or just a need for career redirection. I will guide or confront as needed but most of all, I will listen with compassion.
