With over 15+ years of experience, I provide virtual counseling for adults that is secure and completely confidential. My specialty is in developmental trauma, which can leave an indelible impact on our adult functioning, relationships and bodies. I am particularly interested in studying and treating trauma's impact on men’s sexual development, such as unwanted sexual urges, sexual-identity confusion, addictions and fetishes. These issues require a value-neutral and nuanced approach.
Most traditional talk therapies are “thought based” cognitive approaches that only take clients so far. My approach - a blend of psychodynamic, IFS and Sensorimotor therapy - can help clients access deeper layers of their unconscious as well as their own body's natural capacity to heal. I work with many people whose prior therapy was unsuccessful.
My work specifically focuses on helping people gain more self-compassion and patience; manage familiar bouts of self-hatred, guilt, rumination, obsessiveness and perfectionism; challenge ingrained myths about Self and the world; “try on” and then internalize more mature ways of coping; heal from past traumas using the body’ natural resources.
