Welcome! My approach to therapy is rooted in the concept of validation and change. I believe in the role of compassionate understanding of our histories and ourselves to make sense of why we do what we do. When this understanding is coupled with a commitment to growing and healing (a commitment I will help you sustain when the going gets tough!), we are able to make desired changes, and in turn, transform from just getting by to thriving. I work with adults in areas of trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, suicidal ideations, and other concerns.
I use a range of skills-based and trauma-informed practices including mindfulness, DBT, STAIR/NST, CBT, PE, and CPT. I believe in being a life-long learner and routinely seek out new perspectives, treatment modalities, and more. This includes deepening my cultural humility to support the unique needs and experiences of LGBTQ+ clients and clients of color.
Asking for help isn't easy. Telling your story and finding the right fit in a therapist can be even harder. Give yourself credit on taking these first steps. Lets chat more about what you are looking for (the first initial brief phone call is free) to support you taking the next steps in your healing journey.
