Karisa uses techniques derived from cutting edge therapy models and evidenced based models that include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Equilateral (EA-EMDR), Pia Mellody's PIT Model for Codependency and trauma resolution, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing Therapy for trauma and nervous system regulation.
Karisa worked for four years at The Meadows, a world-renowned inpatient treatment facility, assisting clients with trauma and addiction issues. She also spent time as a Clinical Director and consultant for new treatment centers in the valley. Karisa now has a private practice with limited availability and provides training/consulting.
