The purpose of my work as a psychotherapist is to provide a safe environment for you to make the changes in your life you need to make and to discover new things about yourself. If you're feeling stuck our work together can give you a new perspective on specific issues such as relationships, professional growth and self esteem. Whether you're looking for short-term, solution-focused treatment or a more in-depth exploration of your life, my focus will be on helping you have a better understanding of yourself with a goal towards positive change.
I have an active and dynamic style that reflects my unique life experiences. I believe in integrating a therapeutic approach that's right for you in a safe, empathic environment. My work is informed by my training in psychoanalysis as well as cognitive behavioral techniques with a focus on mindfulness.
With over 25+ years in the field and 10+ years in the corporate world, I bring a well-rounded life perspective to my work. I am a professor of clinical practice, cognitive behavioral therapy and family treatment at CUNY/Hunter College Graduate School of Social Work.
