I work within the modality of Somatic Movement Therapy and practice from the premise that body experience and movement hold a unique role in understanding and transforming human behavior. Sessions develop by directing clients awareness to sensation, impulse, movement and/or emotion in order to support physiological and neurological process. The pace and direction of this work is client led through verbal and nonverbal feedback. This approach is founded in developmental therapy, interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory.
My work has a primary objective of increasing embodiment by bringing consciousness to sensation and awareness. Individuals who are particularly kinesthetic prefer doing emotional work through sensation/ movement. For those who are out of touch with their bodies I help build skills in body awareness and focusing.
I have a special interest in working with individuals who are dealing with chronic pain and anyone who needs help with alignment, body mechanics or tailoring their exercise routines to their bodies. I can also help you engage specific muscles to access support in current emotional issues.

Online Support for Chronic Pain
For anyone living with chronic pain no matter what the cause. NOW on ZOOM THURSDAY 6-7pm Pacific time. Includes: check in, educational information and resources, guided relaxation and/or movement, breath awareness and personal sharing. Join us and break the isolation, be supported by others who understand living with chronic pain Learn about the physiologic responses to pain, emotion and stress Experience techniques to increase relaxation and decrease pain. cost $10-20(sliding scale) per meeting. If you can't make these groups but are looking for some help consider doing individual sessions with me.
