Greetings, my name is Karen Drack, M.A, LMHC. My belief is that through the trusting and empathetic relationship with a counselor a person will be able to recognize the desire to create improvements in their life. My goal for my clients is to assist them to build on their successes and look for opportunities to grow as an individual. I work with individuals 18 and older who are struggling with feeling anxious or depressed or who have experienced trauma, grief or loss.
I incorporate a poly-vagal approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy. By introducing poly-vagal informed therapy, one will learn to befriend their nervous system; understanding how and why it reacts in certain ways; and how to regulate one's nervous system and emotions.
I believe that you are doing the best you possibly can with what life has given to you. I work with my clients to process and accept their past in order to build a more promising future. Through a supportive relationship, we will engage in discussions to increase you understanding of nervous system responses as well as explore and reframe internal dialogue
