I have been working with children ages 5-17 years in the areas of grief counseling, separation, trauma based issues, mood disorders including depression in children, ADHD and anger management for the past 18 years. I also work with adults, couples and families to address issues including divorce, grief, communication and intimacy issues. My office hours are geared to the working mom and/or dad offering evening and weekend appointments. We accept some insurances and offer a sliding scale fee.
I use evidence based interventions based on a behavioral, cognitive-behavioral and solution focused approach to therapy as well as play therapy. I strongly believe in including the family in treatment and family sessions are a significant part of my treatment planning.
I am a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) and a Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida for Mental Health Counseling Interns. I am also a trained family mediator helping divorcing parents to agree on issues such as co-parenting and time sharing.
